Data Engineer

I’m currently recruiting for a senior data engineer role, based in Dublin. This is an initial 6-month contract, focusing on hybrid working. Strong day rate available.

About the Role

• Design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines, data models and data warehouse solutions to support analytics and business operations.
• Develop reliable data workflows using modern cloud technologies while ensuring performance, scalability and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics and business teams to deliver high-quality data solutions and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the data platform.

Requirements

• Previous experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering or Software Development.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with technical experience using dbt, Airflow and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, data models and cloud data infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform) and best practices for testing, monitoring and pipeline reliability.

Desirable

• Experience with Snowflake, Kafka, Spark, Databricks or other modern data stack technologies.
• Background in healthcare, finance, insurance or another regulated industry.
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy and compliance frameworks (e.g. GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2).
• Experience with CI/CD, GitOps and relevant cloud or data engineering certifications.
